Fire Engine Toy Is Also For Girls
Looking for the perfect toy for any child is often a very hard endeavor. This is because no matter how well we think we know our children, we really haven’t got a good idea about what they really like. Even when they tell us what they like we tend to make the wrong choice when we buy. There are a few toys that are classics, and they seem to stand the test of time. These toys have been around, and have probably survived so long because they are always hits, even if we don’t know why. One of these classics is the fire engine toy.
My daughter has always been rather girly, with the exception of her love of the Wiggles. She prefers dolls and tea sets to things that most boys like to play with. I was surprised one day when she picked up a fire engine toy and asked if she could have it. Because it was small, I thought it would be okay for her to have it, and I paid for it. I was really surprised when she brought it home and played with it for hours. It didn’t do a lot, but that didn’t seem to matter to her in the least. She still plays with it to this day.
Though most think of the fire engine toy as something that most boys like to have, I see many girls besides my daughter that seem to enjoy playing with one as well. They come in all sizes and shapes, and though most are red, there are many colors out there as well. Some are tiny and don’t do much but roll around, but others have sirens and ladders that work. Some even come with little figures of fire fighters. Some save their fire engine toy from their childhood because they have such fond memories of playing with it.
Perhaps the fascination with the fire engine toy has something to do with the awe that many feel for the firefighter. They are often the unsung heroes in any community, and people respect that. When children see a real fire engine, they are often full of questions, and these questions are answered by their parents. If their parents still respect the fire fighter, this will come through in the way they talk about the truck. This fascination may indeed by why the fire engine toy has always been popular, and why it may continue to be as such long into the future.
